Material : premium silk charmeuse 。Measurements : 15 x 72 inches。Eco printing refers to the act of printing the pigments and tannins of plants to textiles to alter color, apply color and create certain designs. Natural dye is a component where everything used for dyeing is all natural, such as flowers, leaves, bark, roots and even bugs.。In the making of this beautiful silk scarf, I used tropical leaves and flowers from my home garden.。The process in making this scarf/bandana is ecofriendly and unrepeatable. The result is unique and surely one of the kind. Premium quality of silk charmeuse is used to make this fabric.。Before the eco printing process, the fabrics need to be scoured and mordanted first. This scouring and mordanting process could take a week or more. It depends on the type of fabrics.。Eco printing results may vary according to many conditions – plant season, plant part used, processing time, water quality, pH level, mordant, processing method, fibre type (protein, cellulose or synthetic), etc. That's why it always have a unique result. 。There are 2 eco printing techniques : pounding and bundling. I use bundling technique in making this lovely scarf/bandana.。Bundling is a technique of arranging leaves, stems, flowers onto the mordanted fabric in a certain design pattern. Fabric then rolled and bundled. The bundle then steamed for about 2 hours. I used to steam and then at least wait for a day before I unbundle it. Unbundling is always the best part of the whole eco printing process. You never know for sure what you'll get from the bundle. Always full of surprises and always bring such an excitement each time I witnessed the masterpiece of mother nature.。The eco printed fabric then hang to dry. Avoided from direct sunlight. After ironing it, still have to wait for another week before starting the fixation process. 。Done with the fixation process, I wash the fabric with a pH balance soap, rinse a couple of times then hang to dry again. One last ironing then the eco printed fabric is ready to accompany your wonderful journey in life. 。Eco printing is a long process. That's why they call it slow fashion. I hope this  beautiful scarf would always reminds you about being patient and enjoying a process.。
